Multi-factor authentication is a security system that requires more than one method of authentication in order to access an online account. Multi-factor authentication is far more secure than a single method of account login, as usernames and passwords are increasingly less secure given recent online account breaches and website hacks. While you should always try to use strong and unique passwords across different websites, Flourish requires the use of multi-factor authentication to provide an additional layer of security when you log in to Flourish.
You’ll set up your method of multi-factor authentication during the account setup process, although you will be able to change your method of multi-factor authentication at any time once your account is setup—please see How can I change what form of multi-factor authentication I use? for further details.
Flourish supports three forms of multi-factor authentication: calls to a mobile phone or landline, text messages to a mobile phone, and authenticator apps. You can see What forms of multi-factor authentication do you support? for more details.
Simply choose your preferred method and follow the onscreen instructions to set up multi-factor authentication apps. Each time you log in to your account, you’ll need to use this method in order to enter a secure pin, so make sure you choose the method that’s most convenient to you.
Please note you may also be required to complete a multi-factor authentication prompt after logging in if your account has been inactive for some time.
