This FAQ applies to Flourish Cash.
Please note: When a new bank account is connected, a 4-day security hold applies. During this time, you will not be able to transfer funds to the newly added account. This measure is designed to prevent unauthorized withdrawals.
Phase 1: Initiate the Connection
On Web (Flourish.com)
- Log in to your account.
- From your Dashboard, click on the desired account.

Find the Connection Tool:
- First-time users: Click Connect your bank.
- Existing users: Click External Accounts at the top, then Add external account. Select Connect a new bank or choose from previously linked institutions.
- Plaid Security: You will be guided by Plaid. You may enter a phone number for easier future reconnections or click Continue without phone number.

Manual Entry: Scroll to the bottom of the "Select your institution" page and click Link with account numbers.
- ⚠️ If prompted to "Sign in to your bank," click Enter account number instead to continue with manual routing/account numbers.
On the iOS App
- Log in to the Flourish mobile app.
- From the home page, tap your Flourish Cash account.
- Tap Linked Accounts.
- Tap Connect New Account. (Alternatively, select from previously linked banks at the bottom).
- Follow the Plaid Security and Manual Entry steps described in the web section above.
Phase 2: Authorize and Verify the Deposit
After entering your bank details, you must authorize a $0.01 test deposit to your external account. The verification path depends on how quickly your bank processes this deposit.
Option A: Instant Delivery (Within 3 Minutes)
⚠️ If your bank supports instant delivery, do not close the app or browser window while waiting, or you will lose your progress and have to restart.
- Check your history: Open your bank’s app or website in a separate tab/device (or call them) to check your transaction history.
- Find the code: Look for a $0.01 deposit with a description or note containing a code starting with "#" followed by three letters (e.g., #ABC). Write down these three letters.
- Complete: Return to the active Flourish/Plaid window and enter the three-letter code to connect immediately.
Option B: Standard Delivery (1 Business Day)
If the deposit is not instant, you may close the window and return once the deposit appears.
- Wait: Check your external account in one business day for the #ABC code.

Return to Flourish:
- Web: Log in > Dashboard > External Accounts > Click Verify under the pending bank.
- App: Log in > Tap Flourish Cash Account > Linked Accounts > Tap Verify on the pending bank.
- Finalize: Enter the three-letter code and follow the prompts.
Phase 3: Start Transferring
Once verified, you can fund your account as follows:
- Web: On the dashboard, click on the Make a new transfer button.
- App: Tap the Transfer button at the bottom of the screen.
Troubleshooting
- Missing Deposit? If it hasn't arrived after one business day, please wait one more day.
